OH the feeling of guilt for not posting since days!!! I was too busy in exams, and this time it was different.I am giving exams for subjects which I think I am amazing at,( He!) and the subjects which are going to draw out my future. Through rigorous studying hours, I discovered one more thing about me, and about many friends of mine. We, have trashedthe conventional table chair study habits, have taken the shelter of the "Bed" to study. METHOD- lie down take the book, thump it on the cot, fold your hands, stretch your feet and study. The worst posture one can ever do while gaining knowledge. And most amazing thing, for this, I have got some symptoms of Carpel Tunnel Syndrome.
Carpal tunnel syndrome is pressure on the median nerve -- the nerve in the wrist that supplies feeling and movement to parts of the hand. It can lead to numbness, tingling, weakness, or muscle damage in the hand and fingers.
Nowadays the youth, as in me and my friends, carry out most of the work in computers or laptops. Not even these come to use, you can log into "YEFFBEE" through mobile, no need to walk towards the computer or open the lid of the laptop.Adding to our ever-growing lethargy, isnt it?
Fitness is a word which I fear. The thing is I am not fit, I am so incorrigible that I know it and I dont do anything. I dont even budge from the place I sit, and if the phone rings and I have to get up and take it, I sit and wait till someone comes and picks it up. And my mother glares at me and says "Lethargic Kid."
I dont really want to generalise this, not want to escape from the fact of my lethargy. But then most of us in the present generation are lazy, tired and hesitate to work or do something which sweats us out.
I feel guilty when I see my 74 yr old Thatha ( Grandpa) doing morning exercise for an hour and going for evening walks, scaling distance of 2 or 3 kms everyday. He is fit, looks like he is in 50s and has no disease yet (Touch Wood). And on the other hand, I am fat, look like I am 20 already and have my own disease forum working.
All this has made me re-think my lifestyle and through this post I want others to do so too. Lets gear up and do something that keeps us fitm healthy and keeps us alive until we achieve something in life. Only studying and getting good marks is not enough, we have to live properly for getting something good in life.
